This was a bathroom renovation I undertake in one of our properties. Fortunately the bath tub didn't need any work at all, we liked it just fine, so we just planned to replace the ugly linoleum floor, that always looked messy and dirty, the tiny and short vanity and the disastrous bathroom vent.

We removed the built-in medicine cabinet. The mirrors were tiny and all peeling, and inside the wall we found a few surprises.

New tiles were absolute must. We poured self leveling compound, then worked the Thinset with the 12mm thick tiles to set them, level them and get them ready for grouting. We also had to compensate for the thickness of the tile with a toilet bowl spac

The access to the bath water cut-offs was covered with a piece of plywood. We replaced it with a proper access door and patched the rest of the wall.
And this is the final result. In this picture we still had a few tasks to do - fan timer and light cover, caulking around the bottom of the tub, but the new vent is there, this time you couldn't see the sky through it, with a lot less noisy fan, new
